Invisalign Henderson

Invisalign is a great alternative to traditional braces.

Let’s be honest…there comes a time in everyone’s life when braces just aren’t an option anymore. Busy professionals often don’t want to worry about picking food from their wire braces in the middle of a business dinner and students may not want to flash a mouthful of metal at the college mixer.

Invisalign is the leader in alignment treatment that straightens teeth using a series of clear dental aligners. Invisalign offers a way to get the straight, beautiful smile you’ve always wanted, with a treatment that is convenient and virtually invisible to others.

What does Invisalign treatment involve? Invisalign treatment includes a series of custom-made, BPA-free plastic aligners. These aligners are made to be comfortable and virtually invisible, while gradually shifting your teeth into the desired position. Depending on your treatment plan, you’ll receive a new aligner approximately every two weeks, which will continue to move your teeth into place.

If you are a candidate, and you want to proceed, you can get started right away. It takes about two weeks to receive your clear aligners. You’ll be ready to straighten your teeth!

Once You Begin Treatment

What happens next? Throughout your treatment, you’ll have regular checkups (every three to four weeks) at our office, where we’ll monitor your progress and give you your next sets of aligners. Your treatment may last anywhere from six to 18 months, depending on your dental needs and goals.

What can I eat with Invisalign? Since the recommended amount of time for wearing your clear aligners is 22 hours, you’ll have plenty of time to eat your favorite “difficult” foods. Just take out your aligners and eat all the chewy candy and popcorn you would like. As a matter of fact, most people take out their aligners while eating meals.

Is Invisalign really that simple? Yes, it really is. We have straightened many smiles with Invisalign. Once patients start their treatment, they are sorry they didn’t do it sooner. Never forget a beautiful smile is a great asset to have!

Proper Care of Invisalign Aligners

Maintaining the cleanliness and integrity of your Invisalign aligners is crucial to ensure the effectiveness of your orthodontic treatment. Here are essential tips for the proper care of your Invisalign aligners:

1. Cleaning Routine

Gently rinse your aligners each time you remove them to prevent the buildup of saliva and plaque. Use the recommended Invisalign cleaning solution or a denture cleaner to soak your aligners at least once a day. This helps eliminate bacteria and keeps your aligners fresh. Use lukewarm water when cleaning your aligners, as hot water can warp the plastic.

2. Brushing Your Aligners

Use a soft toothbrush dedicated to cleaning your aligners. Brush them gently to remove any particles or residue. Apply a small amount of clear, antibacterial soap to your toothbrush for added cleanliness. Steer clear of toothpaste, as it may contain abrasive ingredients that can scratch the surface of your aligners.

3. Storage When Not in Use

Always store your aligners in the provided Invisalign case when not in use. This protects them from damage and prevents loss. Ensure your aligners are stored safely out of reach of curious pets, as they may be attracted to the scent.

Proper Dental Hygiene During Treatment

Maintaining excellent oral hygiene is paramount throughout your Invisalign treatment. Follow these guidelines to ensure optimal dental health during the alignment process:

1. Regular Brushing and Flossing

Brush your teeth at least twice a day, preferably after meals, using fluoride toothpaste. Incorporate daily flossing into your routine to remove plaque and debris from between your teeth.

2. Clean Aligners and Teeth

Before reinserting your aligners, ensure both your teeth and the aligners are clean to prevent trapping any bacteria. Rinse with antiseptic mouthwash to reduce bacteria and maintain fresh breath.

3. Avoid Certain Foods and Stay Hydrated

Limit the consumption of sugary snacks and beverages to prevent cavities during your Invisalign treatment. Reduce intake of foods and drinks that can stain your aligners, such as coffee, tea, or red wine. Maintain proper hydration by drinking water throughout the day. This helps flush away bacteria and promotes saliva production.

4. Dental Checkups
Continue with your regular dental checkups and cleanings. Inform your dentist about your Invisalign treatment to ensure comprehensive oral care. By following these guidelines for the care of your Invisalign aligners and maintaining robust dental hygiene practices, you contribute to the success of your orthodontic journey and emerge with a beautifully aligned smile.
